The past century has been the time of Children's Art Theatre of China Welfare Institute growing and thriving.

In 1940s, Soong Ching Ling, a great woman with her deep affection and great concern for future of the children in china, set up the first professional troupe for children in Shanghai-Children's Troupe of China Welfare Fund, late renamed The Children's Art Theatre of China Welfare Institute.

Since its foundation on April 10,1947, The Children's Art Theatre of China Welfare Institute has always implemented the policy set down by Soong Ching Ling, serving the children whole-heartedly with their experimental and demonstrative dramas for more than 50 years. Times goes by, and young audience also comes and goes, but in its exploration of the children's plays, the Children's Art Theatre of China Welfare Institute is now a big tree, gaining care and respect from all walks of life.

Our cause will stay young forever. In the sunlight of this new century, we will spare no effort to irradiate the glamour of Soong Chingling's cause on the stage.
