Dear Mr. Ai,
Greetings from CURE in Columbus Ohio. I want to add my personal thanks to you and your staff that did such a great job in organizing and putting together the outstanding program for CURE/CWI recently. The evening was wonderful which demonstrated how much effort had been made in making it such a success. Xiao-Ping has explained to me how much work had been done in preparation for this event, including yourself. Please give my personal thanks to all those who were involved in this process.
It would be of interest to hear about what results you have heard about the press and media results. Any copies of news articles would be appreciated. Do you have information about any TV programs that carried this event?
As you are aware, Wal-Mart is seriously considering to be a major sponsor for CURE's efforts to assist China increase the cure rates of their children that develop cancer. We have been told that our proposal to them has been very favorably received by their China, and International Operations and their final decision is to be made early in 2005 by top management.
Since my return I have been working to arrange the training for the three physicians that are to receive SCLF support for training in the US. One is scheduled to start during the next month, another is awaiting approval of hospital approval to be away, and the third is being discussed.
CURE is most pleased with our excellent partnership with SCLF/CWI. We feel that any success that is accomplished will depend largely upon our continued close relationships and efforts.
With best personal regards,
William A, Newton, Jr., M.D.
