The China Welfare Institute Children's Palace is a center of extracurricular activities for children in Shanghai. Based on the characteristics of contemporary children, it carries out ideological and moral education, as well as training in basic skills. The first Children's Computer Activity Center in China and the well-known Shanghai Little Companion Art Troupe were established in the Palace. About 30,000 boys and girls come to learn science and art in more than 100 art and science training groups in their spare time annually.
