Established in 1991, named after Madam Soong Chng Ling is a model International Kindergarten with half-day, full day and boarding programs. The name of the Kindergarten was inscribed by Jiang Ze Min, the Ex-Chairman of the People’s Republic of China.
Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten is affiliated to the China Welfare Institute founded by Madam Soong Ching Ling herself and the Chinese government also shows great concern for and pays great attention to the Kindergarten.. The policy of running school set forth by the China welfare Institute is “Doing experiments, setting an example, making scientific research, letting a hundred schools of thought contend and a hundred flowers blossom”. This policy gives the Kindergarten the opportunity to build a relaxed, democratic, harmonious and humane environment. Madam Soong Ching Ling’s spirit of loving her own country and the children all over the world has already melted into the culture of Soong ching Ling Kindergarten and it has become the precious spiritual wealth of the Kndergarten.
On the basis of taking in the internationally advanced mode of early childhood education, the Kindergarten carries on the teaching reform and practice from time to time. With the spirit of being inclusive of all like a vast sea, taking good things from various sources and combining the cream of the eastern culture with the western one, the Kindergarten has already formed the outstanding features of its own. Aiming at the development of the children, fostering their personalities, developing their potential and good qualities and having a multicultural curriculum, the Kindergarten has been recognized as one of the best institutions in early childhood education in the world by the specialists both at home and abroad and is becoming an important base for the exchange of different curriculum programs and the experiment of different schools in early childhood education.

II. Chronicle events of the Kindergarten
**1991**
The ceremony of the founding of Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten and unveiling of Soong Ching Ling statue;
The inscription of the name of Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten by Jiang Ze Min, the Ex-General Secretary of the Central Committee of the Chinese Communist Party
Huang Hua, Chairman of the China Welfare Institute and the member of the Central Consulting Committee joined the ceremony and together with Chen Zhi Li, the Ex-Vice Secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of Shanghai, unveiled the Soong Ching Ling statue.
**1994**
The ceremony of the founding of the International Division of Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten;
Congratulations from Ex-Vice Mayor of Shanghai, Zhao Qi Zheng;
Ms. Or and Xu De Xin made speeches at the ceremony.
** 2001**
The ceremony of the 10th anniversary of the establishment of Soong Ching Ling Kindergarten
Gong Xue Ping, Chairman of the Standing Committee of the People’s Congress and Yin Yi Cui, Vice Secretary of the Committee of the Communist Party of Shanghai joined the ceremony.
