The China Welfare Institute (CWI) has undergone the course of 62 years. It grew out of the China Defense League which was founded by Soong Ching Ling in Hong Kong on June 14,1938. She was then the chairman of the Central Committee. The League rallied people who had deep love for peace and justice.
